LITCHFIELD — The Cold Spring Springers have advanced to the second round of the 100th Minnesota Baseball Association state tournament. Playing in Class B, the Springers are one of several area teams competing in the state tournament, which this year is hosted by Delano, Litchfield and Dassel. Defeating North St. Paul 7-6 in the first round of 32 teams, Cold Spring advanced to face the St. Louis Park Pirates at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Dassel. Zach Femrite started for the Springers and struck out 11 batters in 6.
